Pediatric & Elderly Hearing Screening at Home in Abuja

Children and older adults are the two groups who find hospital visits hardest, and the two groups where hearing loss is most often missed. We bring age-appropriate testing to your home.

For babies and children

  • Newborn & infant screening (OAE)

A quick, painless check done while your baby sleeps. If the screen is not clear, we arrange a diagnostic ABR test through a partner hospital.

  • Toddler & school-age testing

Play-based and conventional audiometry for children who are slow to talk, don’t respond when called, or struggle at school.

  • Middle-ear checks

Glue ear after colds is very common in children and affects speech and learning. We check for it and refer where needed.

For older parents and grandparents

  • Armchair testing

The full test done where your parent is most comfortable, with family present if they want.

  • Linked to wellbeing

Untreated hearing loss in older adults is linked to isolation, low mood and a higher risk of cognitive decline. Early testing matters.

  • Carer coaching

We show the household how to clean, charge and fit hearing aids, and how to communicate more easily.

Frequently asked questions

At what age can a child have a hearing test?

At any age. Newborns can be screened in the first weeks of life. From about six months we use age-appropriate behavioural tests.

Signs my child may have a hearing problem?

Not startling at loud sounds, late speech, not responding to their name, turning the TV up, or teachers noting inattention. If you are unsure, test.
